First of all, I really want to say that JCs Wildlife is my first choice when purchasing bird-related feeders and houses. I chose this particular hopper feeder for several reasons: style, functionality, colors, workmanship, price. Compared to others in this category, this feeder is a stand out. I like it so much I'm thinking of adding another one for summer feeding.PROS:EASE of FILLING: the roof slides easily up and out of the way on the attached hanging cables.LG CAPACITY: Sorry, it's raining and so I cannot measure it (JCs should add this info), but it holds a generous amount of seed ... likely 5+ quarts (JCs can you help?) ... I'll try to gather the info and update this review when it's not rainingPERFORATED TRAY: There is a perforated tray insert to help drain any moisture and prevent seed from becoming moldyLIGHTWEIGHT: This is solidly built out of recycled poly "wood" but, unlike other poly items I have, this is surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle. If you mount it on a pole, all you have to worry about is lifting the lid and filling. If you decide to hang it, make sure you have a sturdy pole and are able to manage it to/from its hanging position when full.QUALITY: This is a solid build from craftsmen that care about their workPRICE: this is the most reasonably priced option I've found for a poly hopper feeder of this size; well worth it!CONS:EASE of FILLING: As easily as the lid slides off for filling, I had no doubt that the squirrels and raccoons would figure out how to do the same in a matter of minutes. We purchase "right angle screws" and placed one on either side of the lid to help deter that activity. This is a necessary step, even with an open hopper feeder such as this, to discourage or prevent access from the lid to the seed. These are a cheap and easy way to secure the lid.PERFORATED TRAY: I do wish that the tray were metal instead of plastic. The jury is still out, but I worry about squirrels chewing the heck out of the plastic. A Stainless Steel tray would be a great addition to this wonderful hopper feeder!I've had the feeder up for about a week now and so far so good. Except that the squirrels - which my neighbor feeds corn to - have decided that my bird's seed is preferable to her corn. Rats! They basically take over the feeder and leave no room for birds to land. I have a deteriorating platform feeder beneath the hopper that at least offers an opportunity for birds to feed when the squirrels are hoarding the hopper. That's it for now! Hope you find this helpful. If I get to measuring dimensions and capacity I will give an update to this review, but hopefully JCs Wildlife can add that information for customers. It was the only thing that made me hesitate ordering the feeder (not having dimensions/capacity info) ... but I took a chance and am delighted that I did so!
